About the ESDIM 1 School
European School on Defects in Insulating Materials is an accompanying event of the European Conference on Defects in Insulating Materials. Based on the contents of the previous EurDIMs, the School program includes lectures on theoretical and practical aspects of the defects from fundamental issues to applications. The format of the school is designed to encourage interaction between lecturers and attendees, with informal discussions at coffee breaks, meals and social events. The ESDIM 1 will be organized at the West University of Timisoara close to the city center. Accommodation in Student Houses is proposed.
Topics will include all areas related to point and extended defects in bulk materials, thin films and nanostructures. Technological applications will be presented alongside fundamental measurements and theories.
